A fantastic great family fun day out! You can travel by steam train from Eskdale to Ravenglass and then walk up the hill to Muncaster Castle. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and plants from all over the world. The children will enjoy the adventure playground and if your feeling peckish make sure you pay a visit to the  restaurant in the courtyard. Highlights are the Owl Sanctuary, the bird show and the Watermole Maze.

Your never going to hear the kids complaining that their short of things to do here! Why not have a traditional family beach day out, have some sandwiches by the sea, scoot along the seafront, and have a go on the rides at the fair. Its not a conventional Scoot Route but we couldn’t talk about Blackpool without mentioning the pleasure beach. The website has a handy ‘Plan your Visit’ area.

NATURE RESERVE

Brockholes Nature Reserve Preston New Rd, Samlesbury, Preston PR5 0AG

Brockholes is an unreserved reserve owned and managed by The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside. There's plenty to see and do including a floating Visitor Village with a restaurant, shops and Welcome Centre or you can explore family-friendly hides, walking trails and play areas. We would highly recommend their homemade cake selection on offer :)

FAMILY THEME PARK

New Palace and Adventureland Marine Promenade, New Brighton, Wallasey CH45 2JX

A great traditional family day out on the Wirral, Merseyside. Adventureland is the indoor part of play area so more suited for scootering children is the new open-air Brighton Family Funfair on Brighton Promenade. There is plenty to do including dodgems, small dippers and a fun house. The Family Funfair is not recommended for children over 13 or those seeking white-knuckle rides.

PUBLIC PARK

Wythenshawe Park   Wythenshawe, Manchester

This green flag awarded park is beautiful and definitely worth a visit if your in the area. Theres plenty to do here too...children can enjoy the play areas and work up an appetite, before sitting down to enjoy a picnic in your stunning surroundings. There are also lovely woodland walks, orienteering courses and mulituse games areas to enjoy in the afternoon.

STATELY HOME AND GARDENS

Chatsworth House Bakewell DE45 1PP

Chatsworth House and Farmyard is home to the Duke of Devonshire, with beautiful walking trails and fountains to explore as well as being able to walk around and tour the building. Terms and conditions state that dogs are very welcome but the use of scooters is not permitted.

TREASURE TRAIL

This is a fun family walking trail of 2 miles. It is largely on the city's pavements but there are also stretches on canal towpaths and the cobbled streets around Castlefield. It is suitable for pushchairs, energetic wheelchair users and scooters!

SKATEPARK

Projekts MCR Skatepark   97 London Rd, Manchester M1 2PG

This day out is unfortunately only suited to more experienced scooter riders, the Skate Park is a professional standard skate park. We just could not give the park a mention when discussing scooting days out in Manchester! Definitely worth a peep for all budding skateboard and bmx riders, even if you aren’t brave enough to risk the ramps!

MUSEUM AND MEDIEVAL RUINS

Norton Priory Museum and Gardens Tudor Rd, Windmill Hill, Runcorn WA7 1SX

A fantastic family fun day out, they received the Gold Award for Green Tourism. There is plenty to do on your day out you can explore the excavated medieval ruins, visit the St Christopher statue, and run riot in the extensive woodland and sculpture trail. There are designated picnic areas which are great if the weather is nice but there is also a cafe serving lots of yummy treats. Norton Priory is buggy friendly and there is only one set of stairs.

Gullivers is a family theme park for families with children between the ages of 2 to 13 years of age. Its unlikely that you will be able to bring scooters but you can call 01925 444 888 to make any enquiries. Dogs are also not permitted. Don’t forget swimming clothes if you want to use the splash zones on a sunny day!
